Informs Annual Meeting 2019
INFORMS is the leading international association for Operations Research & Analytics professionals. Each year the organization hosts several events including an annual conference whose location changes year to year. This year’s annual meeting will take place on October 20-23 in Seattle, Washington with an estimated 6,000 industry professionals in attendance.
We at Processim Labs are excited to be making our Informs debut next month. Until recently our efforts have been focused on Decision Sciences and Operations Management groups. We’re very much looking forward to adding Information Analytics to the mix!
Technology Tutorials
Besides the new faces and industries, one aspect that sets Informs apart from other tradeshows we’ve participated in is the event’s technology tutorials. Our team along with other companies that offer interactive products and services in the analytics and operations research field will be hosting 50-minute technology tutorials. This comes at a perfect time for Processim Labs as we have recently launched several new features that have improved the interface for professors using our Operations Management game and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share them and more with Informs attendees.
The tutorials will be held for the same four-day duration of the event itself and attendees will have the chance to take part in whichever ones they choose. Other notable tutorials include insights on how to improve optimization with IBM as well as a look at how T-Mobile is applying operations research to improve its supply chain.
Keynote Speakers
Another exciting feature of the Seattle Informs event is the confirmed keynote speakers. The eight speakers are from the following top universities and leading technology institutions: Uber Freight, London Business School, University of Texas Austin, Facebook, Columbia Business School, MIT Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences, Stanford Business School, and Microsoft.
Our team is especially looking forward to hearing from Bar Ifrach, the Head of Marketplace at Uber Freight. Ilfrach will be sharing his wisdom on how to use tech, strategy, and operations to transform the massive logistics industry at scale.
If you’re planning on being at the event this fall, come by our booth and say hi. If you’re unable to attend the event, but want to know more about our products, visit our website!
